{Kids Helping Kids}

M·A·C Cosmetics created Kids Helping Kids greeting cards in 1994 to directly address the ever-increasing impact of HIV/AIDS on children, The cards are sold during the winter holiday season with 100% of the selling price donated to a pediatric HIV/AIDS organization and other related groups. Each year the beautifully illustrated holiday cards are created by children ages 3 to 15, who are affected by HIV/AIDS.

M∙A∙C created these items from artwork submitted by youth ages 3-15 who participate with Camp Heartland, based in Minnesota. Founded in 1993, Camp Heartland is dedicated to improving the lives of children, youth and their families facing HIV/AIDS and other life challenges. The M∙A∙C AIDS Fund has provided funding to Camp Heartland since 2001, totaling more than $180,000 in support.

Six cards for $6.00

Gift Tags in sets of 12 for $6.00

A set of three pillow gifting packs (small, medium and large) for $7.50

These are adorable! Why not give back this season? There is no better reason! Let me know if you want any and we will work out the deets and get them sent out to you.

{Preschool}

Isn't she the cutest thing? Here she is on her first day of preschool. I had to work so Burk got her all ready and dropped her off. She just loves Miss Brittany. She is learning so much and is really smart. They play with play-dough, sing songs, learn ABC's (doing a different letter each week), make a craft, bake, practice writing, talk about the weather, have show-and-tell, and play. She gets so excited to go every Tuesday and Thursday and lets be honest here....it's such a nice break!

{Update}

We all know MAC right? Well if not, here is a little about them:

Make-up Art Cosmetics, better known to most as M•A•C, is a brand of cosmetics sold internationally, that originally became famous through word-of-mouth endorsements by professional makeup artists, models and celebrities.
The company has become synonymous with glamour due to its ever-growing presence in the fashion industry, continued use of celebrity endorsements and commitment to cruelty-free products and universal diversity. The company motto is All ages, all races, all sexes.

FAB! I love MAC! I have used it for years. I own more product than I know what to do with, but being on a budget...I have learned to try other brands. However, now a days with the economy all over the place, those other brands seem to be going up in prices, while MAC stays at the same price, so I find myself returning to an old friend, the MAC Freestanding Store.
Along with other girls, it has always been a dream of mine to work for MAC and it seems that an opportunity has presented itself while I was in getting eyelashes put on. I was talking with the artist (her name is Sara) about the company and how hard it is to get a job with MAC. She explained alot about the company, told me that I should apply because I have a great look, know how to do makeup, and have a great personality. How nice huh? I think so. The next day Brooklynn and I went shopping and ran into the store to get some powder. Sara was there and said that she was so glad that I came back because she wanted to give me an application. She told me that she could write a little note on it saying that she liked me and thought I would be great for a job. She ran in the back and came out with a manager who wanted to meet me. I talked with her and she told me to bring in the app with a resume and get ready for an interview. I am so freakin excited! I am off today to head down there and get the ball rollin! Isn't that so cool? I THINK SO!

{Brooklynn & Ashton}

Court watched Brooklynn for us while I was working so Burk could go on an interview the other day. She took pic's of the kids acting crazy. Ash and Brooklynn have become really good friends. They even go to pre-school together. Court was asking Ash if he was excited to go to school with Buggers? He said that sounded fun, but he just really wanted to spend more time with Brooklynn! Adorable!

{Breaking Dawn}

On August 1st I went with my friend Courtney to B&N for the release of the new book by Stephanie Myer. Breaking Dawn is the final book in the Twilight Saga.

We got there around 11:30 pm. The parking lot was packed. Courtney looked at me and said "is this gonna be a bunch of Mormons?" I just laughed and said "probably!" It was crazy. There were people dressed up like Vampires, people had "Team Edward" and "Team Jacob" shirts on, groups all over the store talking about the books, girls from 12 to 70 years old were there. It was ridiculous! Court couldn't handle it. She bought Twilight to be converted! When the first book was bought people were screaming and clapping and cheering. Court and I got the giggles. Good thing my wrist-band said 150! Ah crap! We waited and waited. Courtney kept saying "I can't handle this!" I kept saying "ok people.....you have the book....now go home and read it!" I mean the store was still packed with people who already had their books. My number was finally called, Court said " Don't you scream!" She's so funny! I got home around 1:30 am.

I finished the 756 page book last night around midnight. It was good, but I think I like the first three more. If you haven't read the Twilight Series, DO IT! It is enchanting! I can't wait for Twilight the movie to come out, but I will have to until 12.8.08.

{Blue Man}

Photobucket

We went to Blue Man Group thanks to a friend. I know one of the drummers who is in the show and he hooked us up with tickets! It was so much fun. Brooklynn really liked it. Her favorite part was when one of the Blue Men put captain crunch all over his face! I thought the percussion was ridiculous! We decided that we probably would never pay for tickets (it's so much to see them) but getting hooked up was totally worth it. Thanks Jeff & Tom! We had a blast!

{Our 4th}

I know I'm behind on the bloggin, but what can ya do? We went to Idaho for the 4th and had a great time! First thing we did was hit up the lake.

We hung out, the fam went to the lake again on the 4th, I went shopping and had some "me" time, mom let me frost the "Birthdays Cake."

I just wanted one bite...

I had a lick instead.

We ate, had cake, shot off our fireworks, headed over to Eagle Island to watch the big ones. It was way cool. We were like right in front of em and they went forever! The only draw back.....it took forever to get outta there!

Eagle is just gorgeous! I love it there. One day I hope to own land and live there. After being with the fam, we headed back to Utah. You know we stopped at our most favorite place to eat. The Pie.

We stayed with Sher n Russ and wanted to stay longer, but had to get back home because I got a job! Whoo Hoo! It's at Potterybarn Kids. Part-time, but totally worth the discount! Tonight is my first offical time. I'll let you know how it goes. Thanks to Dan n Laura and Sher n Russ for letting us crash! We love you and had a great time!

{Skinny Bi***}

We are reading the most interesting book. We laugh because the authors are smart-mouthed about what we are feeding ourselves. It is turning out to be what looks like a vegan diet book, which is a bummer. You know me! I love me some steak! Nonetheless... it is full of great info from carbs to pooping, and it gives us something to talk about other than sports, cnn, buggers, or money. So we will keep on reading our copy of Skinny Bitch while eating Hostess Cupcakes and Peanut Butter M&M's! So much for "Sugar Being the Devil" at this house!

{WALL-E & Water}

Yesterday we took Buggers to see the new movie WALL-E.

Isn't he the cutest thing ever!?! The movie was smart, funny, and a sweet love story. We totally recommend it! Brooklynn was so scared, but I distracted her with popcorn and sprite! After it was over she loved it and can't stop talking about it. Her friends Walle and Eve go everywhere with us.

After the movie we took Brooklynn to the Children's Park at Town Square.They have this big area where water shoots out of the ground for the kids to run through and play. It was so funny to see our little timid girl get into it. She had a blast! We LOVE it here! What else can we say?
