{In the works}
So I have been away for a while due to working tons and getting promoted! It's nothing too crazy, just more hours. I have also been doing a lot of freelance work for a great photographer Carlos Roncancio. He is amazing and has been in the industry for a long time. Along with his work, he has done great covers for 411 magazine out here in Vegas, shooting people with the likes of Tyra Banks and Nicole Riche. He is helping me build my portfolio. Here is a little preview of some of our work: (I have left them big so you can really see my work!)
High Fashion
Natural Beauty
So there you have it! Just the beginning of my work. I have so many things goin on right now and new projects in the works. Stay tuned......

{I fear The Reaper}
I have been so sick since last Friday. We went and saw Land of the Lost and it fell nothing short of Amazing! I was crying followed by hacking up my insides. I was a hott mess! I was feeling not like myself. I woke up in the middle of the night with a high fever and the sweats. As you know, I am a MUA and my job involves me being all up in peeps faces and there is a lot of touching involved. I thought it best if I called out sick for the day. I didn't want to get my customers sick and for sure didn't want to spread this gunk to the other artist cause then we would be passing it back and forth. So with my sick day in hand, I slept 20 hours on Saturday. I still felt horrible and on top of it, my back is killing me due to the being in bed for so long.! Sunday came and was not a funday like usual. I called out that day as well. My fever had dropped, but my back is in bad shape. I left my bed for the floor, but that really didn't make a difference. When it was finally time to put the Bug to bed I was feeling a little like my old self. I ate a little and watched The Soup hoping and praying for a miracle. 11 pm came and I hit the sack. This morning I rolled out of bed relived that my cough is mostly gone! Whoo hoo! I am so glad that I have today to get a little more rest. I have no idea where this sickness came from, but I would really love it to go away. Maybe The Reaper has other plans for me? Either way, I'm trying not to fear him. This always seems to help:

{Men Vs. Wild}
Nothing has me more excited than the upcoming episode of Man Vs. Wild with Will Ferrell. Bear Grylls has taught me so many techniques to survive in the wild if I ever needed to, but let's just be honest..... I might very well pee my pants during this show . Will is an amazing actor, (and one of my hero's) but to see him in the raw, without a script is even better. Here is a little preview of what is to come on the episode. Are you ready to be amazed?
Be sure to tune in on June 2 at 10 on the Discovery channel to see if they make it out. It is going to be GLORIOUS!

{Call me Wheezer}
Have you ever heard a great laugh? One that is so adorable or hearty that you are taken back? I love most laughs. When I hear a great laugh I think "why can't I laugh like that?" Instead, I wheeze. I think mine does start out with a little giggle that somehow leads to a loud laugh, but somewhere in there, there is definite wheezing. I then notice that I am wheezing and start wheezing harder. It's a pretty good mixture of giggles and wheezing and throw in some "oh my lan-ta's" and "I can't stop" and "did you just hear that?" I consider my laugh to be infectious because I laugh at myself laughing. I have talked about this before, but every time I watch it I am wheezing and crying from laughing so hard. I love it so much, I watch it for a weekly pick-me-up.
These are some of the other things that make me wheeze:
********************************************************************************
"That whole having kids thing sure sounds like a real drag."
"Man it is."
"No regrets, that's my motto. Well... that and everyone Wang Chung tonight"
"Old people scare me."
"Are you looking at pictures of your family?"
"No. those are birds."
"I'm a magician! Pick a hand... pick a hand. I am not kidding you. Pick a hand... (left hand) nothing... (right hand) nothing. I'm a magician!"
"Where did you get all these scars?
"Well, let's see. Skateboard... Truck accident... Fire hydrant."
"I bet each one has its own exciting story, no?"
"No not really. I skateboarded off of a truck into a fire hydrant."
"First we'll make snow angels for two hours, then we'll go ice skating, then we'll eat a whole roll of Tollhouse Cookiedough as fast as we can, and then we'll cuddle."
"Don't pee on my boots and tell me it's rainin!"
"Your Mexicanness defines who you are."
"Have you ever farted and it didn't smell?
"Not since I was 13."
"Have you seen these toilets? They're GINORMOUS!"
"Why are you humping me mid-afternoon?"
"I'm in a glass case of emotion."
"I just had a PAP SMEAR, stepped in POO on the subway, and my sister's DEAD. How do you think I am?"
"Dude! Don't crop dust me!"
"Welcome to your first random drug test!
"I don't have to write a test to tell you I do drugs.."
"Fill it up again! Fill it up again! Once it hits your lips, it's so good!"
**********************************************************************************
The first 3 people that wheeze and can tell me who said 4 of these things and email me {sj.bradshaw17@gmail.com} I will send you a special little somethin! It's pretty amazing! Trust me. You are gonna want this!

{Havin' a Heat Wave}
So not much has been going on here in Fabulous La La Land other than the fact that it is getting hot. Yesterday it was 103! Ok, so that may not be your definition of hot, but to me it felt like 120. Hey! You dress in all black and then go get in a hot car and drive about 20 mins to work and just as you pull up the air starts to work. Like I said, HOT! Along with the heat here come the bugs. Lucky for us, we live right behind the garbage dumpster. When it is hot not only does it smell tangy, but at night the bugs just hang out there. It is so sick! They are everywhere. They are all over the sidewalk and the wall that surrounds the garbage. They even are on our stairs to our condo. When I work I don't get home till around 10 pm and park and prepare myself for the only time in my life that I know I will be running. This run is a short distance yet so intense! I know I have said in the past that I DO NOT RUN. This is really true. Looking at me you don't see a "runner" of any sort. I most likely won't run if you are chasing me, however, if you throw some crickets into the equation I am a blur. I'M A BLUR! I HATE CRICKETS! I am scarred of them. Petrified. Horrified. As I type I am checking out of the corner of my eyes looking for crickets. (Yes. Most likely there are no crickets in my house, but just to be on the safe side I am always on the look out.) Here is something that might give you an understanding to why I do not care for these nasty, noisy bugs.
Mormon Crickets - The funniest videos clips are here
Ok! Who are these crazy people!? I can't imagine following a cricket around let alone thousands of them for my job! Sick! The dude was talking about those sick bugs like they were sweet little puppies! Nasty. And did you see the road? It was covered! Let me tell you a little story. Burk and I were driving to Idaho across Oregon in the summmer a few summers back. We drove through exactly what you saw in the video. A ban of crickets crossing the road. It was so gross. Luckily we didn't know what they were because of the color, but I swear that our car lost a little bit of control that moment that we hit the red moving part of the road. I will never forget it! Some people have a fear of fire, heights, water, sharks. I have a deadly fear of crickets. Crickets, you may ask. Yessir! Crickets! What are you most afraid of?

Obsession Part 2
I came across this in my search for my obsession. This combines one of my obsessions; skulls, with another thing that I love dearly. Diamonds. I believe that diamonds are magical. They enthrall and captivate me. They can turn a somber mood into a glorious moment. They even make my heart skip a beat.
A Diamond encrusted Skull! Isn't it fabulous? Damien Steven Hirst is an English artist and the most prominent member of the group known as "Young British Artists" (or YBAs.) He is the richest living artist to date. In 2007 Hirst revealed “For the Love of God” modelled on an 18th century skull, but the only surviving human part of the original is the teeth. The skull is cast in platinum and covered by 8,601 pave-set diamonds weighing 1,106.18 carats. The single large diamond in the middle of the forehead is reportedly worth $4.2 million alone. It’s priced at $100 million. You read correctly. $100 MILLION! This is truly stunning and what a great inspiration Hirst is. How much do you think I could get for a stirofoam skull cast in glitter and encrusted with nerds and some rock candy? Doin it! I think I am headed in the right direction.

{The Night}
Burk and I rarely get a night to go out. A couple nights ago I came home from work and said " I have had it! We are goin out!" Burk was so excited that he ran out the door. I grabbed my purse, pulled Bug to the door and followed him to the car.. We drove to Red Rock. I love it! It is a newer casino about 5 mins from our house. It has tons of dining, bowling, Bingo, movies, and this play area for kids. It's kind of sad that the main reason that the casinos have these "Kid Zone" area's is so that people can drop their kids off and go hit the slots. However, it is a great thing for us cause we can't ever get a sitter and Bug really loves it! So we ate at Cabo and then made our way to the Movies. We grabbed our tickets and went to check Buggers in. She got to have $2 this time for a snack! Finally we were off to the movies! We haven't been since seeing Twilight. We saw State of Play. It was A=MAZING! I loved it! It was full of suspense, I got a little scared. I jumped! It made you think. It was just a dope movie. We give it 4 thumbs up! Go see it! There are so many movies that are coming out that I am so thrilled to see. Here are the ones that caught my eye:

{Obsession}
I have an obsession. I'm not afraid to admit it. Some may call this strange or even weird. I call it a totally healthy and a totally bitchen thing to be obsessed about. I am just head over heals about 5 things in my life. Can you guess them? I think you won't be surprised at all once you see the list:
1 .Family
2. My Job
3. Skulls
4. Brass Knuckles
5. Shoes
Ya'll know that the bottom 3 are more like obsessions rather than just something that I like. I LOVE those 3! They make me giddy! I just can't get enough! I can spend hours looking for the perfect one of them which can be tricky cause I LOVE all of them!
I don't remember how long I have had a thing for Skulls. I want anything and everything that has a skull on it. Out here in Vegas, everything has skulls. My eye caught this dope belt buckle and I ran into the store with full intentions on buying it. When I looked at the price tag, a tear almost fell from my eye. Shopping in Vegas feels like I am in Mulan! To me things are so pricey! Still I get my hands on whatever Skulls I can. Today I am dreaming about buying some "Bone Chillers."
When I found my Brass Knuckle Earrings I was over joyed! They are just the perfect little accessory that I wear every day.Then when I was able to get my hands on the necklace, I almost fainted with over excitement!
Shoes! Ahh Shoes! I have so many shoes! I love boots and heels the most. My latest are a beautiful pair of Gianni Bini "Desiree" Pumps.
I discovered these beauties as I was leaving my interview with MAC. They are the perfect knockoff to my "Dream Shoe". Every once in a while there comes a shoe that will stand out from the masses, a shoe that first becomes a trend and later will be considered iconic. The YSL Trib Two Pump has great potential to become a shoe legend. The highly coveted 5″ inch stiletto pumps are virtually sold out EVERYWHERE and their hefty price tag prevents them from being a realistic shoe dream for me. Even if I had millions of dollars, I don't think I could spend $795 on a pair of shoes. Ok. I just said that so you would think I'm humble. You know I would get 'em!
So there you have it! I have decided to dedicate a blog a week to my obsessions. Stay tuned as I fall more in love with Skulls, Brass Knuckles, and Shoes!

{The Moment}
I haven't been feeling like my normal self the past little bit and in an interesting turn of events I have been sleeping like a grizzly (not grizzle or gristle--I'm awsum at spelling) in hibernation, (which is so not me, being as one who does not "need" sleep) followed by tender breasts and I haven't received my monthly package from mother nature in who knows how long. I know. Why do you need all the details? Well YOU JUST DO! So I told Burk it was time to take a test. He did not look happy. Off he went to the gym with Bug and I headed to the bathroom. While I was doing what you do for these tests, there were so many things racing through my mind. "This isn't happening! I'm not ready! We are not ready! However.....we do make beautiful babies! Brooklynn really wants a sister. Is that enough for me to endure 45 hours of labor again? I can't look! I can't look!" I looked. This is what I saw:
So it turns out I am not pregnant! Whoo hoo! Really though, I about fell off the toilet when I saw that little line. (I'm not good with reading instructions even if they are right there in front of me.) When taking a test of this sort there is that moment when you don't know if your life is going to change forever. Quite frankly that scares me. We are in the clear! After delivering this news to Burk and Bug we did nothing. So much of nothing that this is what happened to the two of them:
Sometimes all that nothing can really wear you out! We put Buggers down and continued doing nothing! Its was glorious!

{Burk's spare time}
Burk loves to get his hair did by his favorite stylist Brooklynn. Too bad he doesn't have much to work with, but no worries. Bug can do wonders for him!
Didn't she do such a fantastic job? I think she's got a knack for making him so pretty. Burk is a pretty little girl! (He also really needs to get some new clothes. He's had that shirt since high school. Please feel free to donate money for this cause.)

{A visit from the Rents}
Burk's parents came down for his spring break. They really came to steal Bug and head to San Diego to be with Jess. It was fine with us! We went out on a date and Burk didn't know what to do and where to sit. The hostess looked confused as Burk was all flustered. I asked if she could tell we haven't been on a date in years? She laughed and Burk gave me a dirty look.
We headed to meet the fam after a meeting I had for work. It was a long drive. I have said many times that I am not doing anymore road trips with Burk again! I yelled that at him and then he asked how I was planning on getting home? Dang it! He is so sneaky! We FINALLY arrived in Oceanside, but couldn't find the condo. As we were driving around Burk pointed out all the Marines running to the beach. I then proceeded to yell out the window "I love me some Seamen!" Burk was utterly embarassed. I have no clue why? Hey! I support our troops! We made it to the condo and got to see our baby who was not at all interested that we were there. She even asked me when I was leaving. I know...she is so sweet to her "Mooma." We headed to the beach for some R&R.
I forgot how much I love it at the beach. It is a good thing I am saving $25 from every paycheck for my beach house. We got to color Easter Eggs too thanks to Jess boilin them for us! FYI... Burk looks fantastic in this pic!

{Promise}
I swear as of now, that I, Sara Jean Bradshaw will begin to blog on a day to day basis. Ok probably not day to day, but once a week is a more reasonable commitment for me. We all know how well I am with commitments. I will start this new trend of mine tonight after work.

{Oh my little Buggers}
Last night we watched videos of Brooklynn when she was around a year old. Oh my gosh! She is so stinkin cute! I forgot how much I love the 5 month to 20 month stage. She was so chunky. You couldnt even see her eyes cause her cheeks were so big. She had the cutest little pudge belly and these fat rings around her wrists. I almost started to cry because she is so beautiful! I am so lucky to have her in my life. She teaches me so much about being a good mother, patience, kindness, happiness, and love. She is my little Buggers and I should really tell her how much I love her more and more each day. She makes me want to be a better person.
Everyone, have you seen my little nugget Brooklynn?

{My Needs}
I find myself needing one of these water bottles from Twin Six for my new workout routine.
Then I'll come home and want some of toast as I always do, and this would be the perfect thing to make me smile. Seriously. I need a new toaster anyhow!

{The Big Question}
I have lots of questions. Like, how is my life gonna turn out? What really makes me happy? How can I be a better mother and wife? Which way to the unemployment line? How am I gonna get those BEBE shoes? I don't have all the answers to those questions except the last one. I think I can work over Burk a little. Ok, but the big question is...why don't I look like this?
Does anyone know why? Well crap! I guess its something to aspire to right? I mean she has 2 kids! I only have one! C'mon!

{Been A While}
I know its been forever since last post. I'm ready to get back in the swing of things since I have way more time. I lost my job at MAC due to the econmony. I know, its so sad. I loved it there and loved all the lovely ladies so much!. Lets see. My birthday was a blast as was Christmas. Here is a cute video of Bug sledding. Make sure you have the volume up! (Is that a Russian with her?)
